Rezumat/Abstract. Urban development in post-revolution era in Romania was made by interlocking residential, administrative and production areas, accompanied by a decrease in the population comfort due to neighbourhoods industry pollution. Noise limits are set based on health effects, and verification of compliance is done by direct measurements. This approach is used to assess the noise impact of a treatment plant of industrial wastewater coming from a meat processing factory, having mechanical, chemical and biological phases on the technological chain. Based on the interpretation of recorded values, solutions are proposed to improve the situation of intervention personnel and surrounding areas.
